Rome increases its City Tax
 
Starting from September 1st 2014, ALL travellers staying in any hotel of Rome must pay the following tax:
 
- Eur 7.00 per person, per night, for stays in a 5-star hotel
- Eur 6.00 per person, per night, for stays in a 4-star hotel
- Eur 4.00 per person, per night, for stays in a 3-star hotel
- Eur 3.00 per person, per night, for stays in a 1 or 2-star hotel
 
This tax will be applied for a maximum of 10 consecutive nights (for stays of 11 nights, 12 nights, or longer, tourists will just have to pay up till 10 nights).
This tax is not applied for children under 10 years of age.
